Updated Real-World Presentation Books

In 2015, David Leong and Dr. Aaron Anderson were asked to study the effectiveness of the required public speaking textbooks used by their home school Virginia Commonwealth University. The VCU School of Business was having trouble finding anything geared toward real-world application. As was true at most universities, students complained that their public speaking textbooks were heavy on theory, filled with information that only mattered on tests, and, worst of all, didn’t properly prepare them for the types of presentations they were asked to give after graduation.

With practical advice from professionals in business, science, medicine, and the arts, they set out to create a reader-friendly, visually appealing, and highly effective book. Filled with summaries, stories, and practical exercises, the books describe the most important skills needed in today's fast-paced world.
